Preventing a severe disruption of leading scientific research

Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the world’ s leading multidisciplinary research institutions in natural and exact sciences, engaged RodRadar to support its sub-contractor in safely placing a 2m-diameter drainage line across the institute’s entire campus. In addition to detecting all the underground utilities previously mapped by the contractor’s surveyor, the LDR technology also exposed two unmarked utilities, a fiber-optic cable and a live powerline. This prevented potentially severe disruption to the institute’s scientific research, as well as mitigating the clear safety risks.

Detection of mis-located fiber-optic lines prevents delays

Ram Handassa, a leading Israeli general contractor, undertook the installation of a municipal sewage line for a major residential construction project. RodRadar’s Live Dig Radar detected and exposed mislocated underground fiber-optic communication lines in plastic conduits. This enabled the contractor to alter the installation plans, shorten project schedules, and avoid disrupting internet services for local residents, businesses and a nearby university.

Revealing 10 un-known utilities on a solar farm

Haim Le’Israel, a diversified contractor, was executing a project for installation of a solar farm on private
grounds. For control and grid connection, a 100m ditch was required. Despite extremely challenging soil conditions, the LDR system successfully revealed 11 shallow utilities, metal and non-metal, where the contractor was originally aware of only one.
